Dolly-Parton

born on January. 19 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life through her vivid and broad imagination. Before she was able to read and write she was making up her own songs. She got her first guitar when she was just 8 years old and started performing on an Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. The same year she released her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. She made a name for herself locally while still in high school, however she wanted to perform on a larger stage. The day after she graduated in 1964, she moved to Nashville. The first charting record she had with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a girl to sing on his show. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's Show because the success of her solo songs like Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was way ahead of their joint release. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their collaboration with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to the top spot at No. The first time it made it to the top spot was in 1974.
